Char Dham Yatra 2024: – The Char Dham Yatra whisks you away on a spiritual adventure for 10 days. Starting from Haridwar, explore Uttarakhand’s wonders. Itinerary of Char Dham Yatra
Day 1: Haridwar/Dehradun to Barkot/Naugaon
- Early Morning: Begin your journey with a purifying dip in the holy Ganges River at Haridwar.
- Nourishing Breakfast: Fuel up for the day with a delicious morning meal.
- Scenic Drive: Travel to Barkot, a charming hill town nestled in the Himalayas.
- En Route Delights:
- Explore Dehradun, the capital city of Uttarakhand.
- Take in the beauty of Mussoorie, a captivating hill station.
- Capture breathtaking photos of the mesmerizing journey.
- Barkot Arrival: Check in to your comfortable hotel and enjoy the pleasant weather (25-30°C).

Day 2: Barkot to Yamunotri to Barkot
- Early Morning: Rise and greet the dawn with a wake-up call. A packed breakfast awaits to energize you for the day.
- Scenic Drive to Janki Chatti: Board our comfortable vehicle for a smooth journey to Janki Chatti, the gateway to Yamunotri Temple. Relax and enjoy the scenic landscapes as our expert driver navigates the route via Hanuman Chatti.
- Refreshing Trek to Yamunotri: Feel the mountain air invigorate you as you embark on a moderately challenging 5-kilometer trek from Janki Chatti. Soak in the breathtaking Himalayan beauty as you ascend towards the sacred site.
- Spiritual Experience at Yamunotri Temple: Immerse yourself in the spiritual atmosphere at Yamunotri Temple, dedicated to the goddess Yamuna.
- Take a holy dip in the Garam Kund, a natural hot spring believed to possess healing properties.
- Perform pooja (worship rituals) and seek blessings at the temple.
- Descent & Relaxation: Descend back to Janki Chatti and reunite with our driver. Enjoy a scenic drive back to Barkot.

Day 3: Barkot to Uttarkashi

- Upon arrival, settle into your comfortable hotel in Uttarkashi.

- Afternoon:

- Begin your return journey to Uttarkashi, enjoying the scenic landscapes.
- Night:
- Arrive at your hotel in Uttarkashi for dinner and a restful night’s sleep.
Day 5: Uttarkashi to Guptakashi/Sitapur
- Morning: Fuel up for your journey with a hearty breakfast at your hotel in Uttarkashi. Prepare to check out and embark on your adventure towards Badrinath.
- Scenic & Spiritual Journey: Your journey today offers a captivating blend of scenic beauty and spiritual significance. Wind your way through the picturesque Himalayan foothills, marvelling at the breathtaking landscapes. En route, make a detour to visit Tehri Dam, a marvel of hydroelectric engineering nestled amidst the Himalayas. Important Note: Obtaining permission to enter the dam might be required. It’s advisable to check with your tour operator or local authorities beforehand to ensure a smooth visit.
- Reaching Your Destination: Depending on your itinerary’s designated overnight stay, you’ll arrive in either Sitapur or Guptakashi in the late afternoon/evening.
- Relaxation & Dinner: Check in to your comfortable hotel and unwind after your scenic journey. In the evening, savour a delicious dinner at your hotel and enjoy a restful night’s sleep, preparing for your spiritual experiences at Badrinath tomorrow.
Day 6: Guptakashi/Sitapur to Kedarnath
- Early Morning Stirring: Greet the dawn with an invigorating wake-up call at your hotel in Sitapur/Guptakashi. A nourishing breakfast fuels you for the significant day ahead – a pilgrimage to the revered Kedarnath Dham, the sacred abode of Lord Shiva.
- Reaching Sonprayag & Choosing Your Ascend: Your journey begins with a scenic ride to Sonprayag, the traditional starting point for the trek. Here, you’ll have options to tailor your ascent to Kedarnath Dham (located 18 kilometres further):
- Shuttle Convenience: Opt for a shared shuttle service from Sonprayag to Gaurikund, a convenient way to cover the initial 3 kilometres.
- Immersive Trek: For a more profound experience, embark on the entire trek from Sonprayag itself, soaking in the beauty of the Himalayas as you make your way towards Gaurikund.
- Gaurikund & Onward Journey: Upon reaching Gaurikund, choose your preferred mode of transportation for the remaining 18-kilometre ascent based on your fitness level and preferences:
- Trekking: Continue your spiritual journey on foot, embracing the breathtaking Himalayan scenery.
- Horse/Mule/Doli (own expense): For those seeking assistance, horses, mules, or dolis (palanquins) are available for hire.
- Helicopter (own expense): Consider a helicopter service if time constraints or physical limitations are a concern (separate arrangements required).
- Spiritual Abode & Evening Darshan: After your determined ascent, you’ll finally reach the majestic Kedarnath Dham. Immerse yourself in the spiritual atmosphere and prepare for a transformative experience at this temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. In the evening, after some rest, perform pooja (worship rituals) and seek blessings. Take in the architectural marvel nestled amidst the mountains.
- Descent & Overnight Stay: Following your enriching experience at Kedarnath Dham, Enjoy your delicious dinner and a well-deserved night’s sleep at your hotel/guest house/GMVN cottage.
Day 7: Kedarnath to Guptkashi
- 4:00 AM Wake-up Call: Rise before dawn at your hotel and prepare for a momentous day at Kedarnath Dham.
- Morning Darshan: Embark on your journey to Kedarnath Dham and witness the captivating morning darshan (holy viewing) at the temple.
- Inner Sanctum (Optional): If permitted, enter the Garbhagriha (inner sanctum) to witness the revered hump-shaped structure symbolizing Lord Shiva’s bull, Nandi.
- Descent: After your enriching experience, begin your trek back down to Gaurikund.
- Scenic Return Journey: From Gaurikund, be transported back to Sitapur/Guptakashi, enjoying the scenic beauty of the Himalayas along the way.
- Evening Arrival & Dinner: In the evening, arrive back at your hotel for a delicious dinner and a well-deserved rest.
Day 8: Guptkashi to Badrinath
- Early Morning: Wake up at your hotel in Sitapur/Guptakashi, have breakfast, and check out.
- Scenic Drive: Embark on a scenic journey towards Badrinath via Chopta (Mini Switzerland). Enjoy the beauty of the Chopta meadows (seasonal wildflowers).
- 7:30 PM Arrival: Aim to arrive in Badrinath by 7:30 PM to settle into your hotel.
- Optional Evening Darshan: In the evening (if time permits), visit the Badrinath temple for darshan of Lord Vishnu.
- Dinner & Overnight Stay: Enjoy dinner and settle in for the night at your hotel in Badrinath.
Day 9: Badrinath to Mana to Srinagar
- Early Morning Darshan: Rise for an early morning darshan at the Badrinath temple.
- Hotel Check-Out: Check out of your hotel after the visit.
- Scenic Drive: Embark on a scenic drive towards Mana village, the last village on the Indian side of the border.
- Witnessing the Prayags: Look out for the four sacred confluences (Prayags) – Vishnu Prayag, Nandaprayag, Karnaprayag, and Rudraprayag – along the way.
- Arrival & Overnight Stay: Reach Srinagar (around 188 km from Badrinath) by evening and check in to your hotel for the night.
Day 10: Srinagar to Haridwar
- Breakfast & Departure: Enjoy breakfast at your Srinagar hotel and depart for Haridwar.
- Scenic Drive: Embark on a scenic drive via Devprayag (confluence of Alaknanda & Bhagirathi) and Rishikesh (“Yoga Capital of the World”).
- Evening Aarti: Participate in the Ganga Aarti ceremony in Haridwar upon arrival (evening).
- Wrap-Up: Your Char Dham Yatra concludes with the Aim of Adventure. Farewell to the Himalayas!
